MAHARASHTRA’S first Ayurvedic cluster is being constructed in the city. Approved by AYUSH (The Government of India, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare), the project aims at creating a market for Ayurvedic products in the state. For the first time, a common facility center is being constructed to improve the quality of products. The central government has given 60 per cent of the funds in support of the project. The Maharashtra Ayurved Center Pvt Ltd (TMACPL), to be located in Nigdi, has has been established in order to complete the project. With 40 per cent of it through, the project is expected to be completed by January next year. The motive behind the project is to create a social and economic impact by encouraging the plantation of Ayurvedic plants. They aim to help generate income by creating a scientific base for Ayurveda amongst the farmers in this part of the state.
